Beyond The Rock

Beyond The Rock is a heartfelt short film by Miquel Sietu, a young Niuean Woman from the Heart of Mutalau Ululauta Matahefonua - sharing my journey as a Niuean raised overseas — and the deep longing to stay connected to the land, family, and culture that shaped me. The title comes from Niue’s proud name — “The Rock of Polynesia” — a raised coral island that stands strong in the Pacific. Though I live beyond that rock, I carry it with me through dance, music, faith, and the teachings of those who have come before me.
